As a result of a local league ordering fundraising raffle cards and 95% of them having the same winning name I decided to look into how to make them.  After finding a few suppliers I managed to make my first batch of darts raffle cards.  I then listed the scratch off stickers that were left over on eBay and to my surprise they sold very quickly.

 

As I was suffering with a recurring back injury which eventually went arthritic I decided to look at this as a potential business in case I ever became unfit to do my regular job.  After conducting market research and a more in-depth search for suppliers I discovered that there was a market for the scratch off stickers and a company in the USA who was willing to work with me.  I later pitched the idea to local businesses via the Venture Causeway programme and received a small amount of funding.  This led to the formation of Scratch Labels UK in early 2013 as a work from home business.

 

Since then the range of Scratch Off stickers has increased and I have added fundraising, novelty and personalised scratch cards to the range.

 

The business grew faster than expected and as a result of the unprecedented growth in March 2016 Scratch Labels UK moved to its own work space.

In an effort to keep the momentum going I have attended several courses and conferences hosted by Causeway Enterprise Agency with guest speakers such as Lara Morgan.
